BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO RADIO CONTROL FIXED WING FLYING
So this is it. You have made the conscious decision you want to learn to fly a model airplane. Our Club can help you to achieve your dream. Training is provided free of charge to all members by fully competent instructors. Your first few flights, or until you become confident on your own, are with what is known as a 'buddy box'. This is a transmitter that is plugged into the instructors transmitter via a cable. At a flick of a switch he will give you control. Let the switch go and he has control again, Makes for a much more relaxing experience.
You will work initially to the BMFA 'A' Certificate. Once you have passed this practical and theory test you will be able to fly on your own, though you are advised to have an experienced flyer around for your first few solo flights for yours and other people's safety. During your training you will be given a Training Log to log your progress.
Now, you will be asking yourself 'what plane do I need? What transmitter? What are frequencies? And so on and so on......
Model: one of the best to learn on is the Ripmax Tutor 40, though any Almost Ready To Fly '40' sized high wing trainer will suffice.
